Mountain Biking + Math
EDUCATIONAL FOCUS:
The focus will be on learning about plant and animal life in and around Jug Bay.. a tidal freshwater marsh. We will ride through various ecosystems....forest, farm, and swamp to compare and contrast the wildlife that makes it their home.
SPIRITUAL FOCUS:
We will focus on how our path to following Christ is often the "Road Less Traveled"... difficult and filled with obstacles. In Matthew 7:13, Christ wants us to go through the narrow gate, the road less traveled. If we walk this path "in the flesh," it will be difficult, however, if we learn to "walk in the Spirit," we can handle any roadblock on our path towards Christ!
ADVENTURE FOCUS:
We will learn the skill of mountain biking...true off road biking! We will focus on learning the components of the bicycle, bicycle saftey and how to negotiate over and through mud, rocks, logs and other various obsticles. We will complete a 10 mile course in the woods of Jug Bay using land navigation with the use of a map and compass (no iphone GPS!!) We will use our skills to uncover hidden treasures buried along the mountain bike course.
